Accompanied by a distant wing of corvettes, two giant Fleet Support Carriers (FSC's) cross the infinite void.

FSC's play a supportive role in larger fleets. They carry small spacecraft, like gunships, shuttles and an array of repairdrones. Their bays are equipped with extensive repair facilities. The huge ships rely on escort vessels and gunships for defense.

Hello, I know you didn't specificaly said it was "Spacefighter carrier", I just wanted to talk about the praticality.

...and the dark side of Hard-SF : Airplane fighter model are useless in space because of 4 element :
- There is no horyzon
- You will gain too much weight into replicating a small battlecraft for it to be usefull (and don't forget the travel back)
- What would be the point of putting armor and big gun on the new cruiser equivalent.
- Modern Sensor will work much too well in the voidness of space for dodging to be usefull (and human can't take enough G)


But the idea of a support & logistic ship that carry the repairdrone, spare part and transfert shuttle are still a nice idea. You can even call that a "mothership".
(boarding shuttle or reentry shuttle can also be transported in it)

Man, after seeing this piece of yours, i got so pumped I decided to go full-retard with the details on a new design of mine, seriously though man, brilliant stuff. I was wondering though, how'd you do the background? (i'm a complete novice so fear me for I come bearing one too many questions)
