Dakar Racing Mech by Marrekie Dakar Racing Mech by Marrekie
Insanity prevention tip #78: When redecorating your house, spend at least one hour a day on something completely different (e.g. a racing mech :) )

Sketchup / Photoshop. The Shell-logo was used for creative purposes only. Thanks for 140+ faves folks!

Any dakar-race driver of today will think their vehicle is boring once they see this!

Big up for the innovative idea! Faved!

O_o something about this mech puts a picture in my mind of a very large chicken.... running...

Lets hope they dont rename the Dakar into the chicken races, lol.

The angles are a bit too sharp for something like racing, but otherwise this is quite brilliant.

hmmm...... i would imagine most racing type mechs be skinny and streamline for racing purposes. But hey maybe your racing is a little more different that what i have in mind. ;)

Thanks for the comment & fave mate. I imagined this unit to contend in the Dakar-rally, which isn't a playground for aerodynamic 'F1-style' vehicles. I wanted the mech to look like it could take a few punches.

A racing mech. I never would have thought of that! What do you use to render? This looks almost like a Sketchup output.

Really, done in SketchUp? That's very nice! Is everything intersecting as one solid thing, or are there "floating" bits?

Nice design and shape on this ´Mech. Thou the feet I think should be more agile for fast movement IMO! And the cape above the toes might be an issue?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts mate! The protection plates will not be a real problem , 'cause they can be made to slide along the lower legs. Some real life experimental robots have such plates in the same location.
