(Thanks for 100+ faves guys! :) )

A huge all-terrain vehicle is being transported by Dutch transport company Mammoet. Sketchup 3D - 2014

Update 10-oct-14: :iconvanishingpointinc:'s comment triggered me to modify the flatbed trailer a bit. To give it a more sturdy look, I shortened the base, placed the wheels more directly under the load, added three sets of wheels and 'thickened' the flatbed. All in all I made it look more like those flatbeds they use to move tanks around. The previous design was okay IMO, but I felt it didn't 'speak for itself' enough. So, thanks for the trigger! =D
'Core Skills' articles in ImagineFX! by Marrekie
'Core Skills' articles in ImagineFX!

Oh man, some pretty cool things have been happening lately!

Most importantly, I was present at :iconywander: ’s wedding in Spain, as his best man! (Yeah, the dude got married, so go over to his homepage and congratulate the guy!!) When I arrived back in Amsterdam last weekend, I picked up the latest issue of ImagineFX at the airport and it had my first Sketchup article in it! They asked me to do a series of six workshops about the basics of Sketchup. Very, VERY cool. But that’s not all: the folks over at Vanishing Point Inc. just published an interview they did with :iconywander: and yours truly! Check it out here:…

So in short: I’m all smiles!

Update 17-sep-14: Added my second and sixth tutorial to the pic, just for the kicks of it. =D The sixth one has just been published in the november issue. A few days ago I finished writing the eighth and final article. It was a cool run!

Really cool models to find here!
How do you come up with all these small details?
Marrekie Featured By Owner Nov 25, 2014
Thanks man. Glad you think so! The details in my models are often based on examples from real world machines or vehicles. :)

Hello, there! =3

:iconsweatplz: I was wondering if you're taking any requests for 3D vehicle designs?

Ah, wonderful, mate. Well, I was wondering if you could design a sci-fi train that is a hybrid between the old and the new, something that looks classic yet futuristic, which will be base on a T1 4-4-4-4 steam locomotive. Here are some images of it.

I absolutely loved that steam locomotive, so I was wondering what a sci-fi version of it would look like. So you think you could do that, mate? =3

What a cool machine mate! Very nice lines. Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately, it doesn't trigger a cool idea atm.
